Study: 'Dirty money' making cashiers sick

(KABC) A new study by Swiss researchers found bank cashiers and other people working with large quantities of paper currency are vulnerable to catching various types of flu from the germs living on the money.

Researchers say flu viruses could survive on the banknotes from 24 hours up to 17 days.

But the scientists say the chances are very small that the general population is at risk from handling paper money.
