A new study confirms physical activity - such as walking - reduces your risk of colon cancer.Researchers at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis say walking just an hour a week seemed to protect against the disease. They followed nearly 80,000 women aged 40-to-65-years-old for 16 years. Those who walked for one hour each week were 31 percent less likely to develop colon cancer.

Women who exercised even more vigorously had an even lower risk.
