Police say 18-year-old Giovanni Macedo was taken into custody in another state and extradited back to California last month to face murder and attempted murder charges. He's among six people charged in the baby's death.
The suspects allegedly opened fire on the baby's father, a street vendor who refused to pay them extortion money.
