LOS ANGELES --
Chinese New Year celebrations are planned across the Southland Saturday.One of the biggest events, the 109th annual Golden Dragon parade is in Chinatown. It is set to begin at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The parade will feature about a hundred floats, as well as marching bands.
There is also a celebration going in monterey park at this hour.
The Year of the Rat officially began on Thursday.
