SAN DIEGO (CNS) The robbery took place at 9:50 p.m. yesterday at the restaurant at 6949 University Ave., said Lt. Dan Willis of the La Mesa Police Department.

The suspect walked up to the counter, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the register, Willis said.

The man stole two cash drawers and fled behind the restaurant to Boulevard Drive, where he got into a vehicle resembling a Honda and drove away, Willis said.

The suspect was described as a black male adult, about 6 feet tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He had two distinct moles under his left eye.
