Teen convicted of starting school fire

A 17-year-old boy has been convicted of arson for starting a fire last May at Garfield High School.The fire destroyed the school's 80-year-old auditorium and damaged ten classrooms. It caused an estimated $30 million in damage.

The teenager was arrested back in June.

The judge gave him credit for 260 days already served in a juvenile facility and ordered him to serve an additional six months in a juvenile camp.
