CDC: Lack of sleep harms your health

Between TV and late night Internet surfing, most of us are getting less and less sleep, and it could be starting to affect your health.

All that sleeplessness can be a nightmare for your mental and physical health says the CDC, who warned that sleep loss is an under-recognized health issue. Chronic sleep loss is associated with obesity, high blood pressure, depression, smoking and excessive drinking.

The National Sleep Foundation recommends seven-to-nine hours of sleep a night for adults.
