Experts: Sluggish home sales will persist

Some experts at USC say you should accept the fact of foreclosures and a poor housing market for at least 20 more years. The researchers have identified what they call an unprecedented "generational housing bubble."

They make the prediction as the baby boom generation retires, downsizes and moves on.

As a result, there may be a big surplus of homes for sale; more homes than there are buyers for them.

There are an estimated 78 million baby boomers in the U.S.
