MTA unveils transit plan to ease traffic

LOS ANGELES The plan includes more than $152 billion in proposed transportation projects over the next 25 years.

The plan would add 160 miles of carpool lanes, expand the Metro Rapid network to reach 35 cities, and expand the fixed guideway/busway network to cover almost 120 miles.

The Orange Line would be extended to Chatsworth and the Exposition Line would be built from downtown Los Angeles to Santa Monica.

The MTA board is set to vote on the plan in June.
