Several sex offenders in one Carson hotel

CARSON The city council held a town hall meeting Wednesday night so residents could express concern and outrage. At issue, the state is housing about 30 sex offenders at the same hotel in Carson along the 91 Freeway.

Residents made it clear they don't want them there.

"They need to be housed in their own community, not in another community where they owe no debt to these people," said Carson resident Gladyce Wall.

"Unfortunately, the law in this case requires we do not discriminate against a person's status when they come to check in the hotel," said hotel manager Hitesh Patel.

Carson officials are set to review sex offender laws to see if there are any potential loopholes.
