The chance of developing Type 1 diabetes dropped by almost 30 percent in children who received extra doses of Vitamin D. Researchers also found that an increased and more regular dose translated to an even lower likelihood of developing the disease.
Type 1 diabetes is caused when the body destroys cells in the pancreas, which regulate insulin.
