Crews search for pilot of Arizona F-16 crash

The status of the pilot is unknown
PARKER, AZ The pilot was flying out of Luke Air Force Base, the world's largest F-16 training base.

A spokeswoman for the base says the aircraft went down in a remote area about 80 miles northwest of Phoenix.

All-terrain vehicles and planes equipped with night-vision equipment spent the night searching near a mountain range. Crews are hoping to pick up an emergency signal from the downed jet.

The status of the pilot is unknown.
