Officials blame al-Qaeda for Embassy attack

Police have since arrested five suspects
SAN'A, Yemen The mortars missed their target, but killed a security guard and wounded 13 students at a nearby school.

An Interior Ministry official says an al-Qaeda-linked militant launched three mortars in the Tuesday attack, then fled the scene with three accomplices.

Thursday, police arrested five suspects. But it's unclear if they have any connection to the militant and his men, who remain at large.

The embassy has told nonessential staff they can leave the country if they want. While heavily guarded, the embassy has been the target of attacks on at least three previous occasions.
