4 killed in 2 East L.A. shootings

EAST LOS ANGELES The first shooting took place at a business on Olympic Blvd. The second shooting happened at a residence. Investigators are trying to determine if the two shootings are connected.

Authorities say that in the first shooting, two male Hispanics were shot dead inside of the offices at Jesse's Auto Sales at Vancouver Ave. and Olympic Blvd. in East Los Angeles at approximately 1:20 p.m. Monday.

Authorities say the second shooting happened at approximately 1:37 p.m. Monday at a residence at 1232 Herbert Ave. Authorities say two Hispanic men were shot dead at that location.

Authorities say they do not believe the shootings are connected.

According to Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter, the home shooting was gang related, while the car lot shooting was fueled by automobile theft.

Police are looking for a gray, four-door, 2000 Jeep Cherokee, with California license plate #4LUE195. That vehicle may be connected to the car lot shootings.

Police are also looking for a white, four-door 2001 Dodge Dakota, with Calif. license plate #7Z41469.

Authorities are investigating the shootings at both locations. Police have no suspects and not many details.
