Council to vote on cameras for LAPD cars

LOS ANGELES The Los Angeles City Council will consider a plan to spend $5.5 million to have video cameras installed.

The Christopher Commission recommended the "in-car" cameras following the investigation into the Rodney King beating.

Despite the price tag, the cameras may actually save money in court costs, litigaton and officer misconduct claims.

If approved, it would take about three to four months to get those video cameras installed.
