University of Wisconsin fire ruled an accident

3 students were killed in the blaze
MENOMONIE, Wis. Police Chief Dennis Beety calls the fire a "horrific and tragic accident."

Speaking with the chief on Sunday, Battalion Fire Chief Denny Klass says officials are waiting for a report from the Wisconsin state fire marshal on a possible cause of the blaze.

The fire early Saturday filled the house with smoke. Firefighters say they found the victims - two women and one man - in three bedrooms on the second floor of the house.

Police have said that all three victims appear to have died of smoke inhalation.
