April 8, 2008 12:00:00 AM PDT
The NCAA men's basketball tournament may be over but Los Angeles Magazine kept the Sweet 16 alive today by unveiling the latest bracket setup in the publication's effort to find the greatest thing in the city. "What we've done here today is taken a moment to pause, reflect and think about what makes this city great," said the magazine's editor Mary Melton.

"What we tried to do with this is create a dialogue in the city, to talk about what it is that makes the city great."

In the magazine's May edition, the challenges are:

-- Amoeba Music vs. Disney Hall;
-- Grauman's Chinese vs. Langer's deli;
-- Capitol Records vs. MOCA;
-- Huntington Gardens vs. Spaceland;
-- Pink's hot dogs vs. the beach;
-- McCabe's Guitar Shop vs. Chateau Marmont;
-- La Brea Bakery vs. Hollywood Forever screenings; and
-- the weather vs. Pacific Coast Highway.

Voting results will be published in the June edition of Los Angeles Magazine. Following a fourth round of voting, the winning "thing" will be announced in the August issue.
