The LAPD says the victim and a friend were walking home from a nearby bar when they were approached by two suspects at the front door of an apartment complex. One of the men had a gun and demanded money.

Police say the two men tried to run inside the apartment building. One of the suspects then opened fire, striking the victim in the leg and shattering the building's glass door. The victim is expected to be okay.

The gunmen fled the scene in a car. Investigators say they think the attack may have been a crime of opportunity.

"I'm not sure if these, if the suspects maybe had seen these two people walking home. Maybe decided that they were going to pull off on to street here, unbeknownst to them that the individuals were going to walk the same way. But put themselves in opportunity to where if they were going to rob them they were in a position to do so," said Sgt. Marc Lamont of the LAPD.

The LAPD says the two suspects are described as Armenian men between the ages of 18 and 25. They're said to be driving a tan four-door Sentra or Camry.

If you have any information that could help lead police to the suspects, you're asked to call the LAPD's North Hollywood division at (818) 623-4016.
