Elderly man brutally beaten by robber

NORTH HOLLYWOOD Investigators say the 81-year-old victim was standing outside his house when the suspect walked up and pretended to ask for directions. He then began beating the man.

He forced his way inside, and tied the man up with wire. The robber ransacked the home, took some valuables, and on his way out the front door, struck the man again with a wine bottle.

The elderly victim was taken to Saint Joseph's hospital for treatment.
