Man accused of running over partygoers

WINNETKA Twenty-five-year-old Marquis Jiles was arrested Sunday after police say he struck three people with a car.

One of the victim's died, the other two suffered minor injuries.

Authorities say Jiles was at a Winnetka party early Sunday and started a fist fight. They say he was asked to leave but he jumped into another person's car and drove it into the crowd.

Detectives say Jiles told officers he was shot to cover up the crime. They say that turned out not to be true.
