FAA suspends Santa Monica jet ordinance

SANTA MONICA The city and the FAA are at odds after City Council members approved an ordinance that bans category C and D jets because of safety and noise concerns.

The aircrafts are popular among business executives.

That ban was supposed to go into effect Thursday but federal officials obtained a restraining order.

The city of Santa Monica has suspended the ordinance pending a court appearance.
