No power shortage expected this summer

Rising temperatures have state officials taking a closer look at California's power supply.A spokesman for the independent system operator, which manages the state's power grid, says despite California's economic slowdown, peak power demands during hot summer afternoons this year will likely increase by two percent.

Despite the expected increase in demand, state officials say California will probably not have a shortage of electrical power this summer.
