Caught on tape: Trooper kicks police dog

It happened after the release of a videotape showing the trooper kicking a dog that was part of the unit's K9 operations. A hearing was held earlier this month.

Although the trooper tried to explain the video and claimed kicking wasn't animal abuse, he was fired.

A veterinarian did examine the dog and said he was physically okay, but removed the animal from the unit.
