Taser used to arrest hit-and-run suspect

VENICE, Calif. Investigators said the man crashed into several cars on Strongs Drive near Washington Boulevard just after 10 p.m.

The crash startled many people living nearby.

"The first thing I remember hearing was a big boom from the bathroom. It sounded like someone crashed into my house," said one local resident.

The driver tried to get away, struggling with police. Officers said he even pricked them with a syringe.

Police used a taser to get him under control and in custody.

Police believe the man may have been under the influence of drugs.
