Heavy drinking may be harmful for heart

Heavy drinking may increase a person's risk of cardiovascular disease, according to a new study.The study reported that men who had 21 drinks a week and women who had 14 drinks a week put themselves at serious risk for hypertensive heart disease, heart failure and stroke.

Researchers say heavy drinking causes arterial and ventricular stiffening and an enlarged heart.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide.
