May 31, 2008 5:41:50 PM PDT
The two front runners for one of Los Angeles County's most hotly contested races are making a final push for votes this weekend, ahead of the election on Tuesday.State Senator Mark Ridley-Thomas and Los Angeles City Councilman Bernard Parks are in a tight race for the Second District County Supervisor's seat.

Supporters backing Ridley-Thomas turned out at the Millenium Barbershop in Leimert Park to talk politics and urge others to vote for their candidate.

"He's been very supportive of workers here in L.A. We had hotel workers fasting for a living wage and he was very supportive," said Mary Gutierrez from the L.A. County Federation of Labor.

Meanwhile, Parks kicked off a marathon bus tour of the district.
