Obama's family in Kenya proud of Senator

With Barack Obama's nomination assured, the achievement has sparked plenty of excitement and pride reaching all the way to the Senator's African roots.In Kenya, students at a school named after the Senator have been celebrating ever since they got word that Obama clinched the nomination.

Senator Obama's 83-year-old grandmother lives next to the school and near the grave of the Senator's father.

She tells visitors she's very proud of her grandson.

In a nearby town, Obama's uncle tried to express the family's happiness.

"I do not have adequate words enough to express our deep sense of what we feel as a family," he said.

Senator Obama last visited Kenya in 2006.
