Salmonella outbreak in tomatoes hits Calif.

No deaths have been reported
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, Calif. Health officials say a Contra Costa County resident has the type of salmonella food poisoning that's sickened people in 9 other states.

Most of the cases are in New Mexico and Texas and are linked to eating large, raw tomatoes.

Officials say there's no indication that tomatoes grown in California caused the outbreak.

No deaths are reported.
