POMONA Animal Control officers rescued 17 cats and seized 69 others Thursday night. They also took more than 100 handmade caskets, each filled with a dead cat.
The caskets were stacked in a backyard shack, and some of them had been there for 20 years or more, authorities said.
The 82-year-old woman and her son ran a licensed cat rescue and adoption facility out of the home.
Animal Control cited both for animal abuse.
