'Humboldt Fire' 90 percent contained

PARADISE After destroying at least 74 homes and consuming some 36 square miles, officials say they hope to have the blaze called the "Humboldt Fire" contained by Monday evening.

The power is also back on to the community.

As residents returned to Paradise Sunday afternoon, the power to about 18,000 Pacific Gas & Electric customers went out when the last power line to the town went down.

A spokeswoman for the utility says the outage was caused when damaged power lines in a remote area went down.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
