Authorities said the impact of the crash caused the Camaro to "almost disintegrate" into pieces.
Two people in the car were declared dead at the scene, their bodies so badly injured that rescuers could not identify their gender. A third person was rescued from underneath the car and is in critical condition at a local hospital.
Police thought the third victim may have been a pedestrian, but after further investigation, said he was a passenger who was ejected from the car.
Authorities said the car was definitely speeding down Washington Boulevard but have not determined the exact cause of the crash.
