Find runway trends at local retail stores

WESTWOOD But when it's time to actually shop, it can be difficult to translate those runway trends to looks for the "real" woman.

Jane Loddo, editor of Harper's Bazaar, showed some runway trends available in retail stores in the Los Angeles area.

Prints were all over the runway for this season.

"Best way to wear the prints is with white jeans, and you definitely need white jeans in your summer wardrobe," said Loddo.

Loddo suggests checking out the white Disco Candice jeans from True Religion, which have unique, Swarovski crystals at the waist and pockets. True Religion Brand stores can be found in L.A., Manhattan Beach, and the Americana in Glendale.

The safari look is also in style and should be easy to put together.

"Every woman does have khaki in her wardrobe," said Loddo.

Ellie Tahari makes a fitted khaki shirt jacket which can be teamed with a pleated skirt. The separates can be found at Bloomingdale's.

Black and white is clearly in for summer. BCBG Max Azria has a fun and flirty black and white dress with thin spaghetti straps and a tulle hemline.

And for something muy caliente, there's Ombre, a big trend from French Connection in Santa Monica. Loddo explains the style as taking one single color and featuring it in different shades from light to dark.

This summer is all about the flat sandal, according to Loddo. Claudia Tutti offers a great flat sandal collection.

"We love this collection because the chic, summer sandals are replacing the higher shoes and even the wedges a little bit," said Loddo.

The Mulberry Poppy bag is the newest must-have bag.

"We love the hardware details and pleated leather," said Loddo.

Even beauty treatments are more accessible this summer. Loddo recommends the Olay Regenerist Filling + Sealing Wrinkle Treatment.

"It hydrates your skin and diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles," said Loddo.
