Coffee, tea may reduce risk of stroke

Your morning cup of coffee or tea may help reduce your risk of stroke, even if you smoke. Swedish researchers studied thousands of men who smoked and found drinking coffee and tea lessened their chances of getting blocked arteries, which can trigger strokes.

The risk dropped about 22 percent for men who drank eight cups of coffee, or at least two cups of tea.

Researchers now want to see if it works on women and nonsmokers.
