Investigation led police to a house in the 18300 block of Schoolcraft Street in Reseda on Tuesday, when negotiators talked to the suspects.

Authorities said when the suspects felt their demands weren't being met, they threatened to mutilate and kill the young man.

"When we received a call that said, 'Enough's enough. We're gonna kill this guy,' it was at that time that detectives and our SWAT unit converged on the house," said LAPD Commander Patrick Gannon.

SWAT officers stormed the home, kicking down the front door, and found the victim tied up in the garage with cuts and bruises on his face. He was taken to the hospital.

Police said that while it's rare for SWAT to storm a house in this type of situation, they believe the victim would have been killed if they had not.

Authorities are unsure why the victim was targeted. His named was not released.
