July 3, 2008 5:10:45 AM PDT
The Los Angeles Times plans to make some cuts by trimming 250 positions. The editor of the paper says they've had a decline in advertising, fueled by the weak real estate market. As a result the paper will undergo a makeover this fall that will cut pages by 15 percent per week and eliminate some sections and story length.

Of the 250 positions, 150 of cuts will be in the print and online news departments.
