2 injured in Moorpark plane crash

MOORPARK, Calif. A flight instructor and a flight student flew a single-engine airplane from Santa Monica Airport for a local flight. A mechanical issue forced the instructor to take control from the student.

The pilot attempted to land the plane in a Simi Valley filed. The plane crashed and flipped over, coming to a rest upside down.

Reportedly, the instructor and student sustained minor injuries, including cuts and scrapes.

The airplane was damaged substantially.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident.
