Study: Exercise slows Alzheimer's effect

A new study shows that exercise slows down brain atrophy in Alzheimer's patients.Using MRI scans, researchers at the University of Kansas Medical Center found that exercise directly affected the hippocampus region in patient's brains, an area which controls memory and balance.

The new findings come on the heels of an earlier study that shows exercise also helps delay brain "shrinkage" in Alzheimer's patients.
