Sleep apnea increases death risks

Two new studies find those with sleep apnea may more than double their odds of an early death.

The research shows sleep disordered breathing increases the chance of dying even beyond other risk factors such as advancing age or obesity.

The condition is often treated with a CPAP machine, which delivers air through a face mask while the patient sleeps.
