Clerk robbed, shot in face in South L.A.

Police are searching for a pair of brazen robbers who hit a restaurant in South Los Angeles and shot the clerk in the face.The incident happened on the corner of Stanford and Gage Avenues at about midnight.

Two suspects walked into the restaurant, at least one of them armed, and demanded money from the employee.

When he handed over the money, one of the suspects shot him. The two fled with about $1,000 in an unknown direction.

The wounded clerk is still alive and in stable condition in a local hospital. He was able to give police a description of the man who shot him.

The shooter is described as a Hispanic man in his 20s.
