L.A. property owners to see tax hike

LOS ANGELES The Board of Supervisors voted 4 to 1 on Tuesday in favor of an increase in Measure B taxes. Measure B was approved in 2002 to raise money for the county's healthcare network.

The average homeowner with 1500 square feet of property will pay an additional $55 per year.

The tax increase is expected to bring in an additional $45 million annually, but some county leaders say more needs to be done to address the ballooning deficit in the health services department.
