Eyes could help detect heart disease

According to researchers from several universities, people with eye damage known as retinopathy are more likely to die of heart disease over the next 12 years than those without it.

The teams studied the retinal photographs of 3,000 people and found that those with tiny damage to the blood vessels showed signs of early heart disease.
