Teen, juvenile arrested for murder

FLORENCE, Calif. The LAPD says 30-year-old Travell Hamblett was gunned down in front of First Sweet Home Baptist Church at 88th Street and Bandera on Wednesday around noon.

What investigators say is significant is that no words were exchanged, there was no provocation.

Someone followed the getaway car and led deputies to the suspects, 18-year-old Marcos Rangel and a juvenile. They are believed to be members of the Florencia gang.

"We believe this was gang related incident, however, we also believe that there are racial overtones as well," said Lt. Dan Rosenberg, from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Dept.

Police say the victim had no gang affiliations.

A second man that was shot is in the hospital, listed in critical but stable condition.
