Hiker rescued after falling down cliff

SIMI VALLEY A hiker lost his footing and slid about 80 yards down the side of a cliff near the Lost Canyons Golf Club, and he ended up in a ravine.

He grabbed on to a tree to stop his fall, then used his cell phone to call for help.

A Ventura County Fire Department helicopter crew hoisted the hiker up and out of the steep ravine. The hiker was not injured in the fall.
