Officials said the victim was walking on the tracks at about 7:15 a.m. in an area where pedestrians are not allowed.
Authorities said the incident may have been a suicide. The victim was declared dead at the scene and has not yet been identified.
No one was hurt on the train, which was traveling from Ventura, bound for Los Angeles.
