Mariachi Festival celebrates heritage

RIVERSIDE, Calif. The City of Riverside Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department has brought in the Grammy-nominated Mariachi Sol de México to perform. The band is one of the most prominent Mexican orchestras in the United States and has performed with Selena, Willie Nelson and the Beach Boys.

Ballet folklorico dance groups, attired in colorful costumes, will perform throughout the day.

There will also be a children's fun zone, featuring a rock wall, giant slide and obstacle course. Children will be entertained by clowns, games and face painting. The cost is $5 a person. Vendors will provide culturally diverse foods.

On-site tickets sales on Saturday are $10 a person. Children 12 and under are free.
