Jury awards L.A. cop more than $3M

A local jury has rewarded a Los Angeles police officer more than $3 million.Robert Hill, a 48-year-old white man, claimed he was retaliated against for reporting that his supervisor was making racist statements about blacks and Latinos and taking money from the police explorer fund.

Hill, a 25-year veteran of the department, says he was transferred to another station and given an inferior work assignment, which cost him money in overtime.
