Monrovia police showed up at her home on Wednesday and she was barricaded in her house.
The woman claimed was inside with her husband and that they had weapons inside.
The suspect claimed she was receiving abuse from workers' compensation personnel.
Police said they were not in a hurry to break down the door or fire tear gas. They said they would wait her out.
