Today those closest to her celebrated her 21st birthday in Malibu. This is the second birthday the family has had without her.
There was a birthday cake and people signed cards.
Her mother said she is empty inside without her daughter.
"Our heart is broken but we are living. I don't know how," said Donna's mother Nili Jou. "Without her I'm not alive. "
Jou's family said the last person to see Donna alive is john Steven Burgess.
He's a person of interest in the case and a known sex offender. Burgess is currently in jail for failure to register as a sex offender.
