Web site sends STD alerts via e-mail

But for the last four years, more than 30,000 people have received e-mail alerts telling them they may have a sexually transmitted disease.

The e-mails come from a Web site in partnership with the San Francisco Department of Public Health called inSPOT.

Through the site, people can send e-Cards to let others know that they've been diagnosed with an STD -- and that the recipients might want to get checked, as well.
