New proof that junk food is bad for you

A recently released study of 52 countries found that people who follow western diets heavy in meat, fried foods and salty snacks are more likely to have heart attacks -- 35 percent more likely.

Previous findings have shown that junk food and animal fats cause heart disease, especially heart attacks.

Researchers say people who ate more fruits and vegetables had a 30 percent lower risk of heart attack than others who ate little or none of these foods.
